Twilightmare

Twilight. We all know about it, and if you don't then you've been hiding under a rock for the last year or so, since commercials and books and movies and even music have been influenced by the said vampire virus. Apparently, even the first-day sales records have been infected, as Twilight (in an attempt to bite as many women as possible - young or old) shreds the competition into tiny pieces with only its venom-coated teeth.

At the local cinema where I live alone, Twilight is responsible for selling out more than 6 auditoriums in just one given day. Not only is this unheard of in our trailer-trash hick town, this is unprecedented anywhere withing a 30 mile radius (if there is another cinema within a 30 mile radius.)

Locally, the midnight showing was almost 800 strong, and the 7:15 show ended up filling two auditoriums and had at least 500. Worldwide, Twilight grossed $26.3 million (setting a record), and on it's opening day Twilight sold $62.2 million (also setting a record). I can't wait to see what happens in regards to records after the first few weeks. Will Twilight finally break Titanic's goliath record? Will I go watch this pop culture phenomenon? Will life EVER be the same?
